Costumes for a Song Titles Theme Party

‘Come Dressed as a Song Title’ is a costume theme we have come across from time to time, and usually people tend to think of the song first and then try to work a costume idea around it – with varying degrees of success. Whilst there is nothing wrong with that approach, for this hub article, we are turning things around, keeping it simple and giving you a list of twenty-five or so costumes which you should find at most costume stores and at least two songs that could work for that costume. Hopefully this list may inspire you to think of several others.

Couple of points:

a) We are working mostly with classic ‘middle-of-the-road’ pop-songs and chart hits because experience shows that unless they have a particular favourite ‘oldie’, people will tend to think of the more recent chart tunes when tackling this theme.

b) Because we are British based, some of the songs may be unfamiliar to our international readers. This is why we are giving two choices of tune, but either you will find most of them on YouTube, or perhaps you can find your own ‘local’ suitable tune.

A simple costume, usually tabard-based, which, aside from working for Ace of Spades – Motorhead can also do Leader of the Pack – Shangri-Las. With any other playing card costume plus make-up there is, of course, Poker Face – Lady Gaga.
